POLL: Americans Overwhelmingly Support Atlanta Braves and Kansas City Chiefs Keeping Their Names

According to a recently published poll by Rasmussen, 61% of American adults are in favor of the NFL franchise the Kansas City Chiefs keeping their name. On the other hand, 21% believe they should get rid of it, with an additional 18% being unsure.

In a similar vein, 22% of American voters believe that Atlanta’s Major League Baseball team should get rid of their name, whereas 63% are in disagreement and 15% are unsure.

After the George Floyd/Black Lives Matter mania of 2020, the NFL’s Washington, D.C. team changed their name of the Redskins to the Commanders, while the MLB’s Cleveland Indians changed their name to the Guardians.

Of those polled, 40% indicated that they tune in to professional sports on television, in person, on the radio or online at least once a week, which includes 27% who follow sports more once a week.

An additional 28% occasionally follow professional sports, whereas 28% rarely or never see a game.

38% of Democrats believe Kansas City should change their name. Similarly, 40% of Democrat voters believe Atlanta should change its Braves name.

Less than 10% of Republican voters hold those views. When it comes to independent voters, 58% support Kansas City keeping the Chiefs’ name with 63% being alright with the Atlanta baseball team being named the Braves.

When it comes to race, 65% of white voters, 47% of black voters, and 58% of non-black minorities believe Kansas City should keep its name. 68% of white voters, 51% of black voters, and 56% of non-black minorities are alright with the Braves name for Atlanta.

As for income earners, those making over $200,000 annually are more likely to support a name change for the two sports franchises as opposed to those making below $30,000 yearly.

It’s good to see Americans still opposing the craziest of woke policies such as changing the names of sports franchises.  However, elites have other ideas in mind.

The Right needs to make sure that it can cultivate a parallel set of elites that can climb up the corporate ladder or at least accumulate capital to oppose this insanity.

The last thing we need is for another sector society to fall under woke control.
