POLL: Democrat Voters Want to Severely Punish Donald Trump

Per a poll published by Rasmussen and The Heartland Institute,

47% of likely United States. voters believe Trump is guilty of crimes connected to an alleged effort to overturn the 2020 election, whereas 41% don’t believe Trump is guilty and 13% are unsure. 

72% of Democrat voters believe Trump is guilty of crimes in the case, in addition to 20% of Republican voters and 45% of independent voters.

If Trump turns out to be guilty of crimes related to his attempt to overturn the 2020 election, 34% of all likely voters believe his punishment should be a fine, whereas 44% of voters want the former president to receive a prison sentence, which includes 7% who want him to be imprisoned for life. 3% of voters would have Trump exiled from the country,  2% believe he should receive the death penalty. An additional  8% are unsure.

18% of Democrat voters back the harshest punishments for Trump, with 12% indicating he should receive life in prison if he is found guilty, 4% want him to be exiled and 2% want him to receive the death penalty.

If Trump is found guilty of crimes connected to overturning the 2020 election, 48% of voters believe that the corporate media who also made allegations that fraud mired the election results of the 2020 election should also face criminal punishment. 33% of voters are in disagreement and 19% are unsure. Among voters who believe the media members who spread misgivings about the legitimacy of the results of 2020 election should receive punishment, 32% believe these media figures should be fined, 23% support prohibiting them from public speaking, 16% want them to be imprisoned, whereas 18% believe they should receive both a prison sentence and a prohibition on public speaking.

54% of likely voters indicated that if Trump is found guilty of crimes related to the attempt to overturn the 2020 election, he should be banned from running for public office again. 77% of Democrat voters, 29% of Republican voters, and 54% of independent voters are in favor of prohibiting Trump from running for office if he receives a conviction.

43% of white voters, 53% of black voters, 47% of Hispanic voters, and 67% of non-black minorities believe Trump is guilty of crimes connected to an alleged attempt to overturn the 2020 election. 49% of white voters, 63% of black voters, 65% of Hispanic voters, and 64% of non-black minorities believe that if Trump is found guilty, he should be prohibited from running for public office again.

When it comes to socio-economic factors, individuals making over $200,000 annually are most likely to believe Trump is guilty of crimes in attempting to overturn the 2020 election.

Among Democrat voters surveyed, 57% support criminal punishment for media members who have asserted that fraud mired the 2020 election. 

Trump is the embodiment of all evil among Democrats and their allies in academia and corporate media. For them, taking out Trump and even his supporters is justified in this existential political moment.

Let’s face it, the face has reached a moment in its political history where things will never be the same. The constitutional norms that could contain previous generations’ most base political behaviors have now been totally discarded.

It’s a dog-eat-dog political world out there. And most political actors are not ready for these new trends in American politics.
