POLL: Majority of Americans Back NFL Kicker Harrison Butker
Back in May, Kansas City Chiefs placekicker Harrison Butker gave a graduation speech at a Catholic college, manifesting traditional Catholic beliefs concerning marriage and family life. Most Americans aren’t offended, however.
According to a Rasmussen poll, 58% of American Adults are in favor of Butker manifesting his religious beliefs, which includes 38% who Strongly Approve. 29% disapprove, which includes 15% who strongly disapprove. An additional 12% are unsure.
After the Chiefs kicker gave a speech at Benedictine College on May 11, an official for the National Football League declared Butker’s “views are not those of the NFL as an organization.” 37% approve of the NFL criticizing Butker’s speech, which includes 21% who strongly approve. By contrast, 51% of voters disapprove, which includes 35% who strongly disapprove of the NFL’s action. An additional 13% are undecided.
Butker told the female graduates at Benedictine College: “Some of you may go on to lead successful careers in the world, but I would venture to guess that the majority of you are most excited about your marriage and the children you will bring into this world.”
43% of American Adults stated that having a happy marriage and children is most important to the majority of women, whereas 30% believe having a successful career is most important. 27% are unsure.
54% of Republican voters, 33% of Democrat voters, and 44% of independent voters believe having a happy marriage and children is most important to the majority of women. 40% of Democrat voters, 25% of Republican voters, and 24% of independent voters said that having a successful career is most important.
80% of Republican voters, 48% of Democrat voters, and 52% of independent voters approve of Butker manifesting his religious beliefs.
54% of Democrat voters back the NFL criticizing Butker’s speech, but just 23% of Republican voters and 31% of independent voters hold that same view.
42% of white voters, 44% of black voters, 44% of Hispanic voters, and 48% of non-black minorities believe having a happy marriage and children is most important to the majority of women.
47% of Americans making between $30,000 and $50,000 yearly believe having a happy marriage and children is most important to the majority of women, compared to only 30% of individuals making over $200,000 annually.
Butker’s views are anathema to the elites who control sports leagues such as the NFL. These leagues are controlled by degenerates who help propagate culturally leftist means, albeit in a privatized form.
