POLL: More Americans Agree With 2022 Landmark Supreme Court Decision Upholding the Second Amendment

According to a poll that was recently published by Marquette Law School, 67% of adults supported the Court’s 2022 decision  in New York State Rifle and Pistol Association v. Bruen, which overturned the state’s subjective gun-carry permitting scheme for infringing on the Second Amendment. Stephen Gutowski of The Reload noted that this figure represents a three point increase from the same poll earlier in 2023 and one carried out in 2022

39% of registered voters indicated they strongly support the Supreme Court’s Bruen decision. By contrast, only 11% signaled strong opposition to the decision.

As far as the partisan breakdown of the support for the Bruen decision is concerned, 91% of Republican voters either strongly or somewhat favored the Supreme Court decision, whereas 57% of Democrat voters strongly or somewhat are against this decision. Independent voters supported the Bruen decision by a margin of 71% to 29%.

Americans aren’t giving up their guns so easily. The Second Amendment is very much embedded in the political culture of the US. Republican or Democrat, black or white, many Americans still nominally respect the Second Amendment. And for good reason.

That’s why the gun controllers are using unconventional methods to attack the Second Amendment such as litigating against gun manufacturers, deplatforming gun businesses and organizations, and taxing guns and ammo.

Make no mistake about it, the gun controllers won’t rest until they destroy the right to bear arms. For that reason, we must always be on guard if we want to maintain our freedoms.
