POLL: Only ⅓ of Gun Owners Supports “Assault Weapons” Ban

According to a poll carried out by Tufts University School of Medicine, roughly 1/3 of gun owners back an “assault weapons” ban.

AWR Hawkins of Breitbart News noted that this poll was carried out from May 11 to May 18, 2022, and featured 1,078 respondents.

Per the poll’s findings, 34.1% of gun owners are in favor of an “assault weapons” ban. Similarly, only 28.8% back a prohibition on “high-capacity” magazines.

The Tufts University School of Medicine poll also revealed that 82.9% of gun owners believe “owning a gun for self-defense is a fundamental Constitutional right.”

The poll showed that 64.6% of gun owners own their firearm for self-defense purposes, while 26.1% only own their firearms for recreational purposes.

On top of that, the poll asked questions about other civilian disarmament schemes. In some cases, the poll found support for certain gun control proposals if  “specific provisions” were tacked on to the proposed laws.

In the wake of George Floyd’s death in 2020, massive unrest and crime spikes popped off across the nation. This resulted in many people going to gun stores for the first time to acquire firearms. The trend of first-time gun ownership also took place in blue states, especially those that took hardline anti-police measures.

In effect, many Americans have lost faith in law enforcement’s ability to serve and protect. Instead, they’re turning to the most proven form of protection—the right to bear arms.

This new trend of increased gun ownership has served as a form of resistance to Gun Control Inc and has made otherwise apathetic segment of the American populace receptive to the Second Amendment.

Now it’s become much harder for Gun Control Inc to impose its agenda on the American populace.

As long as there is a robust gun culture in America, the gun controllers will have their work cut out for them.
