POLL: Voters See the Economy as the Most Important Issue

According to a Rasmussen poll, 94% of likely United States voters believe economic issues will be important in the 2024 presidential election.  This includes 23% who expect the economy to be a very important issue in this presidential election cycle. 

92% of voters view national security as an important issue. On top of that, 89% of voters believe immigration will be an important issue in the 2024 presidential election cycle. 

48% of Democrat voters, 75% of Republican voters, and 70% of independent voters, expert immigration issues to be very important in the 2024 election. 59% of Democrat voters, 78% of republican voters, and 76% of independent voters believe economic issues will be very important.  80% of Republicans, 65% of Democrat voters, and 66% of independent voters believe national security issues will be very important in the 2024 presidential election cycle. 

As for race, 70% of white voters, 67% of black voters, and 74% of non-black minorities believe economic issues will be very important in the presidential election. 

53% of government employees, 69% of private sector workers, and 71% of retirees believe immigration issues will be very important in the 2024 presidential election. 

With respect to income categories, those making over $100,000 are less likely to believe that economic issues will be very important in the 2024 presidential election. 

Indeed, economic issues remain king. However, Republicans need to identify key external factors — mass migration, easy money, and a burdensome regulatory state — to make their case effectively in this election cycle. Most importantly, should they win in 2024, they need to implement policies that undermine the central banking system, shut down the border, and downsize the administrative state. 

The time for talking is over. It’s time to legislate.
