Powerful Homily: Catholic Priest Rebukes Members of the Church Who Ignored Religious Freedom, Voted for Joe Biden

Father Jeffrey Kirby of the Diocese of Charleston delivered a powerful homily rebuking members of the Church who voted for Joe Biden last week.
Father Kirby began his homily telling the account of St. Thomas Becket, a 12th century English bishop who was murdered in his cathedral for upholding the rights of the Church in defiance of governmental mandates. Kirby compared Becket’s opponents to Catholics who supported Biden, who is likely to continue in the vein of governmental impositions and infringements on religious liberty seen from President Obama’s administration.

“Some of you, I know, voted for someone who is now going to suffer and persecute the Church for the next four years…
That on top of the fact that he supports the slaughter of the unborn!
What have you done! What have you done to your Church! Look, and watch, as our religious sisters are dragged through the courts! As contraception is imposed upon them! Watch as our hospitals disappear. Because we will not follow government dictates.”
Biden, who styles himself as a Catholic despite support for unlimited abortion and homosexualism, benefited from the support of more religious Catholics and Evangelical Christians than previous Democrat candidates for President. Father Kirby made sure that those who thought allusions to “tone” and decorum were more important than fundamental Catholic moral teachings on life understood the errors of their ways.
“And those of you who voted for such an administration… bear responsibility, for what you have done. Because we are in for it, folks. And they are already getting ready for it.”
Some high-ranking bishops of the American Catholic Church even went so far as to appear to outright endorse Joe Biden, a development unprecedented for a presidential candidate promising full support for an unlimited abortion agenda.
“Never forget, that the spiritual mystics tell us, that the pavements of hell are paved with the skulls of bishops. I preach the truth. So those of you who are entrusted to my care- you know what we believe as Catholics. You know what the true religion calls for. And I want to make sure that I speak it-even if every one of you denies it.“
