President Donald Trump Meets with Muslim Mayor of Detroit Enclave Who Rejected LGBT Extremism

President Donald Trump met with Ameer Ghalib, the Muslim Mayor of Hamtramck, on Tuesday. Ghalib has rejected LGBT extremism by supporting a resolution banning the pride flag within his city, which is an enclave located within Detroit city limits.

“Today, I had a closed meeting with President Trump for 20 minutes, before his town hall in Flint. We discussed many topics. I’ll discuss the details later,” Ghalib wrote in a Facebook post, translated from Arabic.

Ghalib is part of the surprising political realignment that is taking place within Michigan’s Muslim community. Due to opposition to LGBT extremism or because of displeasure with the Democrats’ response to warfare in Gaza, Michigan Muslims are either embracing the Republican Party or rejecting the Democrats.

A report from the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) released on Sept. 9 shows that Green Party presidential candidate Jill Stein has amassed 40 percent support from Muslims in Michigan.

“These new survey findings make it clear that American Muslim voters have the potential to determine the outcomes in several key battleground states and that they are still up for grabs in the 2024 election,” said CAIR Government Affairs Director Robert S. McCaw in a statement.

The city of Dearborn has the highest per capita population of Muslims of any city across America. The rejection of Harris by Michigan Muslims could prove to be her undoing, especially as high-profile Muslim politicians in Michigan like Hamtramck Mayor Ghalib move toward embracing Trump.

Additionally, Michigan has a large population of Chaldeans, or Iraqi Catholics, who are some of President Trump’s most passionate supporters in the state. Last week, Trump’s attorney Alina Habba was named Chaldean Female of the Year:

Habba has been traveling throughout Michigan rallying Chaldeans to become more politically active and vocal in supporting President Trump.

“As someone who understands how tight-knit and faith-driven these communities are, I’m incredibly proud to be here with the Arab American communities in Michigan. Many of us have roots in countries where we left behind persecution for the freedom that we now cherish,” Habba said to Fox News Digital, adding that it is “vital that we speak up to protect that freedom here in the United States.”

“We cannot allow our country to go down the same dangerous path,” Habba said. “Donald Trump is the only option to ensure our values and way of life are safeguarded.”

Trump’s gains within influential Arab-American communities in Michigan has the Democrats scrambling. No wonder they keep trying to assassinate him.
