President Trump Hits Politicians Who Won’t Say If They’ve Gotten Vaccine Booster: “Gutless”

President Donald Trump criticized politicians who obfuscate their views on the coronavirus vaccines developed during his administration, speaking in an interview with One America News released Wednesday.

The former President said that politicians who had said that they’d received the vaccine only to decline to answer when asked if they took the booster shots were “gutless,” strongly defending the efficacy and safety of the vaccines developed through Operation Warp Speed.

“The answer is yes, and they don’t want to say it. Because they’re gutless. You gotta say it. Whether you’ve had it or not. You’ve gotta say it.”

Trump went on to defend the vaccines perhaps more forcefully than he has before.

“The fact is, I think the vaccine has saved tens of millions of people throughout the world. I’ve had absolutely no side effects, I’ve had it like other people have had it- nothing special.”

Some have questioned the need for third doses of the vaccine, especially with the potential of healthcare systems implementing an indefinite line of shots, but science generally indicates that the booster shots provide protection against the risks of hospitalization and death that are more potent to people in Donald Trump’s age range.

Some have speculated that Trump’s remarks on the subject amount to shade directed at Ron DeSantis, who received the vaccine but declined to say if he had taken a booster shot in a recent interview.

A majority of the people currently living on Earth have received a coronavirus vaccine. Science generally indicates that the vaccines are effective at reducing the risk of hospitalization and death, although they’re much less effective at preventing the transmission of the coronavirus disease.
