Jim Hoft of the Gateway Pundit has announced that he will be throwing a “real news” media bash in Washington, DC, on the evening of the annual White House Correspondents’ Dinner.
“Do you want to go to a party full of liberal elites coordinating propaganda to brainwash the American public while eating chicken drenched in too much mushroom sauce and listening to hack comedians?” the event description asks. “Neither do we.”
The event, dubbed as the “Real News Gala,” will be attended by The Gateway Pundit’s own White House correspondent Lucian Wintrich, as well as Mike Cernovich and other new media favorites that will be announced at a later date.
Cernovich, who has made headlines recently for scooping mainstream media on both the Susan Rice scandal and the Syria strike, was recently assaulted at an event in Texas by anti-Trump protesters.
“Join members of America’s real media, the people who report on underserved stories, who broadcast for the public and not against them, as we celebrate the most successful first 100 days of any president in the last 100 years,” the Eventbrite page states.
Tickets went up for sale on Tuesday, but the venue and majority of the speakers will not be announced until closer to the date to help “guarantee the safety of guests and keep protest groups away.” Previous events attended by pro-Trump personalities, such as the DeploraBall on the eve of the inauguration, have sparked massive protests in the city.
“We are excited to host an event in Washington DC with woke individuals that won’t focus on Russian conspiracy theories,” Hoft told Big League Politics. “We will discuss real issues.”
The event, which is 21+, will take place on Saturday, April 29, from 7-11 p.m. Tickets are $100 and include food and an open bar. Guests are being asked to dress in “80’s retro” attire.
There are less than 300 tickets still available, so it is almost certain that the event will sell out very soon.
“Tickets are very limited, when they’re gone, they’re gone!” Hoft notes.
Liberal comedian Samantha Bee has also announced an event in DC for that evening, titled “Not the White House Correspondents’ Dinner.”
Meanwhile, the dinner itself will be hosted by Daily Show comedian Hasan Minhaj, and President Donald Trump will not be in attendance.
