A second video has been released by Project Veritas in their American Pravda series, in which their hidden cameras revealed CNN’s superstar activist and commentator Van Jones saying that the network’s Russia narrative is a “big nothingburger.”
The latest video comes on the heels of Veritas releasing explosive footage of CNN producer John Bonifield admitting that the network’s coverage is “mostly bullshit” — and being done by direct order of the network’s president, Jeff Zucker.
Wednesday’s release features an undercover journalist speaking to Jones, one of the most prominent figures at CNN, declaring that “the Russia thing is just a big nothingburger.”
In Tuesday’s video, Bonifield admitted that the network does not have any “giant proof” of wrongdoing, and that it is all about ratings. He acknowledges that Trump is likely correct in calling the Russia narrative a “witch hunt,” and also admits that the network did not cover Obama with the same rigor.
“I think there are a lot of liberal CNN viewers who want to see Trump get really scrutinized,” Bonifield says at one point in the video. “And I think if we’d have behaved that way with President Obama and scrutinized everything that he was doing with as much scrutiny as we applied to Donald Trump, I think our viewers would have been turned off.”
The video went massively viral, and was even promoted by Deputy White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders during Tuesday’s press briefing.
“There’s a video out there circulating right now, whether it’s accurate or not, I don’t know, but I would encourage everybody in this room, and frankly, everybody across the country to take a look at it,” Huckabee Sanders stated. “If it is accurate, I think it’s a disgrace to all of media, to all of journalism. I think we have gone to a place where if the media can’t be trusted to report the news, then that’s a dangerous place for America, and if that’s the place where certain outlets are going, particularly for the purpose of spiking ratings, and if that’s coming from the top, that’s even more scary, and that’s even more disgraceful.”

CNN acknowledged that the video is legitimate, but stood by Bonifield, claiming that they embrace diversity of “personal opinion.” They did not respond to the allegations that their witch hunt is being directed from the top.
“CNN stands by our medical producer John Bonifield. Diversity of personal opinion is what makes CNN strong, we welcome it and embrace it,” the network said in a statement.
Trump himself did not promote the video, but did take to Twitter to attack the ‘fake news’ network.
“Fake News CNN is looking at big management changes now that they got caught falsely pushing their phony Russian stories. Ratings way down!” Trump tweeted on Tuesday. He later added, “So they caught Fake News CNN cold, but what about NBC, CBS & ABC? What about the failing @nytimes & @washingtonpost? They are all Fake News!”
Veritas began releasing the hard-hitting footage one day after it was announced that three people resigned from CNN after the network was forced to retract a fake news story based on an anonymous source about Anthony Scaramucci, a close ally of Trump, having ties to a Russian investment bank.
Guerilla journalist James O’Keefe’s Project Veritas has been working relentlessly — and effectively — to expose the mainstream media for what they are.
During a press conference from CPAC in February, he offered a $10,000 reward for content exposing media malfeasance — but Project Veritas Communications Director Steve Gordon told Big League that these specific videos came from an undercover journalist with Veritas, not a leak.
A Veritas insider has confirmed to Big League that there are more undercover videos that will be released.
