REPORT: Manafort’s Lawyers Have Been Working With Trump Team Since Plea Deal

In September, mainstream press outlets gleefully reported that Paul Manafort former campaign chairman to President Donald J. Trump had “flipped” on the President to take a plea deal with Special Counsel Robert S. Mueller III in the Russian “collusion” hoax.

In a shocking turn of events, the mainstream press was wrong – as usual.

As reported by Boston Globe Tuesday and confirmed by Rudolph W. Giuliani, one of Trump’s personal attorneys, Manafort’s legal team has been briefing Trump’s legal team on the goings-on between Manafort and Mueller since the plea deal was arranged.

“A lawyer for Paul Manafort, the president’s onetime campaign chairman, repeatedly briefed President Trump’s lawyers on his client’s discussions with federal investigators after Manafort agreed to cooperate with the special counsel, according to one of Trump’s lawyers and two other people familiar with the conversations,” the report said.

This arrangement, which is perfectly legal, is the exact opposite of what the political left and their allies in the mainstream press were hoping. They wanted Manafort to completely disavow Trump and help the Special Counsel.

“Such information could help shape a legal defense strategy, and it also appeared to give Trump and his legal advisers ammunition in their public relations effort against the special counsel’s office,” the report said.

Trump, armed with insider information of the Mueller probe, has ramped up his already-forceful attacks on the shady barrister’s two-year probe. Tuesday he accused Mueller of “ruining lives” for “refusing to lie.”

“The Phony Witch Hunt continues, but Mueller and his gang of Angry Dems are only looking at one side, not the other. Wait until it comes out how horribly & viciously they are treating people, ruining lives for them refusing to lie. Mueller is a conflicted prosecutor gone rogue….” Trump said.

Clearly, Mueller does not have a star witness or ally in Manafort. If he did, it is likely that Manafort would have already done the “flipping” as promised by the mainstream press. Instead, the Mueller investigation has not advanced past where it began before charging Manafort with financial crimes unrelated to the Trump campaign.
