Report: Vladimir Putin Could Resign Next Year Over Health Concerns
Vladimir Putin might call it quits over growing health concerns next year, according to “Moscow sources” speaking to The Sun.
The Russian president is allegedly displaying symptoms of Parkinson’s disease. Moscow political science professor Valery Solovei was the first to publicly share this rumor.
Observers reviewing footage noticed that Putin grimaced in pain while shifting his legs. His fingers appeared to twitch while holding a pen, and he is also seen with a cup of what could be painkillers.
Putin’s 37-year-old lover Alina Kabaeva, with whom he supposedly has three children, and his two adult daughters have been pressuring him to quit, according to Solovei.
“There is a family, it has a great influence on him. He intends to make public his handover plans in January,” he said.
Putin’s staff, meanwhile, has downplayed the rumors. Still, if true, this would be just the latest shocking headline in a wild 2020.
Japanese prime minister Shinzo Abe stepped down from his post in late August for health reasons, too.
