RINO South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem Refuses to Support Legislation Banning Vaccine Mandates

Kristi Noem, the RINO governor of South Dakota, is refusing to back GOP legislation that bans vaccine mandates in her state.

Two Republican state house representatives, Jon Hansen and Scott Odenbach, are trying to pass the “COVID-19 Vaccine Freedom of Conscience Act,” which would essentially grant every citizen the ability to exempt themselves from getting the jab. Gov. Noem does not support the bill.

In an interview with KEVN, Noem asked that “if we mandate one thing, are we setting a precedent for what we are telling businesses they have to do far into the future?”

Not only is she apparently worried about “big government,” she has also urged South Dakotans to find another place to work if their employer mandates the COVID vaccine and they don’t wish to comply.

“Workers whose employers are mandating a vaccine for continued employment have the power to say no,” she tweeted on July 31. “Our robust economy and job market gives them the option to find a new employer that values personal choice and responsibility, and doesn’t force mandates on their employees.”

The bill, still awaiting a vote, says that “a person has the right to be exempt from any COVID-19 vaccination mandate, requirement, obligation, or demand on the basis that receiving a COVID-19 vaccination violates his or her conscience.”

“No person shall be subjected to any disciplinary action; being terminated, demoted, or losing employment status in any way; loss of student status, including status in a particular study program; nor shall any person be denied access to any business premises as a result of his or her decision to receive a COVID-19 vaccination on the basis of conscience,” the bill adds.

If enacted, employers who violate the act could face “civil action for damages or injunctive relief” from the person declining a vaccine.

Big League Politics has previously reported on Gov. Noem’s questionable stances and actions. Most recently, she attended a fundraiser with former House speaker John Boehner:

South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem, a potential presidential contender in 2024 and beyond, recently attended a fundraiser with former House Speaker John Boehner.

Boehner, who was the House Speaker during much of the tea party era, repeatedly rolled over to Democrats and became a pariah to strong conservatives. He is now raising money with Noem as she pursues her ambitions for higher office.

The fundraiser was on behalf of Rep. Dusty Johnson to help him fend off a primary challenge from insurgent state representative Taffy Howard (R- Rapid City). Boehner has fundraised for Noem directly in the past.
