Ron DeSantis and Donald Trump Call for De-Escalation of Tensions in Ukraine
In a statement released on March 13, 2023, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis declared that becoming “further entangled in a territorial dispute between Ukraine and Russia” is not in the United State’s best interest.
Despite not officially declaring his presidential run, DeSantis is viewed as former President Donald Trump’s most competent rival.
On March 13, 2023, Fox News host Tucker Carlson posted on Twitter responses to a questionnaire from Republican candidates and prospective presidential candidates on the Russo-Ukrainian conflict.
“While the U.S. has many vital national interests … becoming further entangled in a territorial dispute between Ukraine and Russia is not one of them,” DeSantis said in his response.
“The Biden administration’s virtual ‘blank check’ funding of this conflict for ‘as long as it takes,’ without any defined objectives or accountability, distracts from our country’s most pressing challenges,” the Florida Governor added.
The Biden regime has supplied billions in military aid to Ukraine after Russia launched a military incursion against it on February 24, 2022. The aid packages are designed to have Russia ensnared in a drawn out geopolitical quagmire.
When Trump was asked about whether the US should support regime change in Russia, he responded: “No. We should support regime change in the United States, that’s far more important. The Biden administration are the ones who got us into this mess.”
Trump is correct here. The real regime change that needs to go down has to happen in DC. The DC Swamp is occupied by a hostile political class that works to undermine the Historic American Nation through its never-ending wars and demographically destructive mass migration project. This is a much firmer response than the one offered up by DeSantis, which was filled with roundabout political speak for a question that must be answered directly. Nevertheless, DeSantis’ response shows a much needed shift in attitude among Republican leaders when it comes to foreign policy.
The real threats are in the DC Swamp, not China and Russia. Nationalists will be at the forefront of ushering this internal regime change in America.
