SCOTUS Upholds New York Vaccine Mandate Denying Religious Exemptions for Health Care Workers

The Supreme Court has upheld the vaccine mandate in New York for health care workers that denies them their 1st Amendment right to obtain a religious exemption from the COVID-19 jab.

The vaccine mandate was upheld by a 6-3 margin, with Justices Neil Gorsuch, Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito dissenting with the majority opinion of tyranny. Trump-picked Justices Brett Kavanaugh and Amy Coney Barrett joined the liberal jurists to rule in favor of the vaccine mandates.

“Six weeks ago, this court refused relief in a case involving Maine’s healthcare workers. Today, the Court repeats the mistake by turning away New York’s doctors and nurses,” Gorsuch wrote in his dissent.

“We do all this even though the state’s executive decree clearly interferes with the free exercise of religion — and does so seemingly based on nothing more than fear and anger at those who harbor unpopular religious beliefs,” he continued.

“We allow the state to insist on the dismissal of thousands of medical workers — the very same individuals New York has depended on and praised for their service on the pandemic’s front lines over the last 21 months. To add insult to injury, we allow the state to deny these individuals unemployment benefits too,” Gorsuch added. “One can only hope today’s ruling will not be the final chapter in this grim story.”

Big League Politics has reported on the tremendous human cost of COVID-19 vaccine mandates:

Jessica Berg Wilson, 37, of Seattle, Wash. died shortly after getting the experimental COVID-19 jab, and her obituary cites the “heavy-handed vaccine mandates” enforced by “local and state government” for causing her death.

“Jessica was an exceptionally healthy and vibrant 37-year-old young mother with no underlying health conditions,” Wilson’s obituary states, noting that she died on Sept. 7 of “COVID-19 Vaccine-Induced Thrombotic Thrombocytopenia (VITT) surrounded by her loving family.”

“During the last weeks of her life, however, the world turned dark with heavy-handed vaccine mandates. Local and state governments were determined to strip away her right to consult her wisdom and enjoy her freedom. She had been vehemently opposed to taking the vaccine, knowing she was in good health and of a young age and thus not at risk for serious illness,” the obituary continues.

“In her mind, the known and unknown risks of the unproven vaccine were more of a threat. But, slowly, day by day, her freedom to choose was stripped away. Her passion to be actively involved in her children’s education—which included being a Room Mom—was, once again, blocked by government mandate. Ultimately, those who closed doors and separated mothers from their children prevailed. It cost Jessica her life,” it states.

Once again, conservative judges have failed to defend the Constitution and the rule of law. Kavanaugh and Coney Barrett should be ashamed of themselves for their cowardly ruling against individual rights and freedom.
