Senators Introduced Legislation to Authorize the Use of Military Force against Iran

On November 6, 2023, South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham and Connecticut Senator Richard Blumenthal introduced a resolution that would recommend the United States government launch military strikes on Iran if Hezbollah, Iran’s most notable proxy, enters the Israel-Hamas conflict.

The senators made an appearance on CNN’s State of the Union to detail what is included in the non-binding resolution.

“It basically says if the war expands, if Hezbollah opens up a second front in the north against Israel in a substantial way, to overwhelm the Iron Dome, then we should hit the Islamic Republic of Iran. There is no Hamas without the Ayatollah’s support. There’s no Hezbollah without the Ayatollah’s support,” Graham stated.

“It’s aggressive, but it’s absolutely necessary,” Blumenthal commented.

Iran’s proxy militias have been particularly active over the last few months, as they have launched attacks against American forces stationed in Iraq and Syria.

“The resolution puts Iran on notice that all this military force in the region will be coming after you if you expand this war by activating Hezbollah or killing an American through your proxies in Syria and Iraq,” Graham proclaimed. “They need to hear that.”

Hezbollah chieftain Hasan Nasrallah made a statement about increased tensions with Israel on November 3 if the Jewish state tries to broaden this conflict.

In light of recent tensions in Israel and the broader Middle East, the US government sent 300 additional troops to the Middle East, which puts the US presence in the region at over 900.

The Zionist lobby largely owns both parties in DC, so it’s no surprise why such anti-Iran legislation has bipartisan backing. Launching military strikes against Iran has long been a goal of the Zionist fanatics running US foreign policy.

This is not in the US national interest, as Iran is no existential threat to the country and the Middle East is no longer of strategic value to the US. It stands to reason that the US focuses more of its attention on its southern border with Mexico — its biggest national security blindspot.

Stoking tensions with Iran is not advisable in this case.
