SICK: Armed Thugs Rob Two 13-Year Old Boys’ LEMONADE STAND
Residents of a suburban Peoria, Illinois community were shocked when armed men robbed a lemonade stand that two 13-year old boys were running.
The two boys, Jude and Tristan, were selling lemonade in their neighborhood, when they reported that they were accosted by two men. One was holding a gun, and the thugs robbed the children of $30 before fleeing the scene on foot.
Surveillance camera footage from a neighbor’s house shows two hooded men fleeing the boy’s lemonade stand, after having robbed them of their humble proceeds. Police are yet to make arrests in the unsavory robbery.
Nathan Peterson, Jude’s father, recounted hearing of the robbery from Peoria police. “The boys were just shocked, they couldn’t process what was happening until it was over,” Peterson told CNN. “I got a call from police saying, ”Hey, your kids are OK, but they just got robbed.’ I almost blacked out, I was just so scared I was trying to get there as fast as possible.”
Nathan Peterson would go on to confirm that the two boys continued operating their lemonade stand after the incident, and the Peoria Police arrived to support the stand.
Peterson reported that Peoria police were paying the boys $20 each for a cup of lemonade, expressing his gratitude for the support shown to the boys by law enforcement. The lemonade stand, now back in operation, has raised more than $3,500 from the community after the concerning robbery.
