Steve Bannon Expands His ‘War Room’ Podcast to Influence Politics on a ‘Hyper-Local’ Level

Right-wing podcaster Steve Bannon is expanding his War Room podcast to give a much-needed platform to pro-MAGA candidates and activists trying to make change in this year’s election cycle.

Bannon has started his War Room: Battleground podcast on the John Fredericks Radio Network, effective March 7. The show will be broadcast in states such as Pennsylvania and Georgia that have tightly-contested races with candidates who are Trump favorites.

“We think there’s an opportunity to literally destroy the Democratic Party as it currently exists in the November elections this year,” Bannon said in a phone interview with BuzzFeed News. “It’s a definite platform for MAGA and for America First. It’s the hyper-local version of the War Room.”

“The Republican establishment is just totally fearful of the populist Trump movement now taking over institutions,” he added.

Bannon said that the new podcast will have a special focus on local politics as the Trump movement fortifies communities against the Washington D.C. swamp.

“We know the hyper-local strategies resonate with people because they’re volunteering like crazy,” Bannon said. “Now we’re basically giving them air cover with both radio streaming and web news services to back it up and, quite frankly, make these people stars.”

Additionally, Bannon is partnering with the Star News Network, which is based in Tennessee and has chapters throughout the country, to provide additional publicity for pro-MAGA candidates.

Big League Politics has reported on Bannon’s re-emergence as a leading voice on the American Right due to his popular and influential podcast:

Former White House chief strategist and Breitbart News executive chairman Steve Bannon recently launched a daily broadcast from his Washington D.C. home where he will be waging a war to stop the impeachment of President Donald Trump.

Bannon, who served as Trump’s campaign manager in the run-up to the historic 2016 presidential election, has a rocky history with the President, but has returned to use his unparalleled media expertise to be in the President’s corner as he embarks on the political fight of his life.

Bannon’s hour-long podcast is called, “War Room: Impeachment,” and he told The Hill that he does not want back into the administration, but believes he can defend against the deep state’s permanent coup from the outside.

“It’s a master class in disinformation warfare,” Bannon said of the Democrats’ propaganda against the President.

He believes that the Democrats are controlling the narrative regarding Trump’s recent scandal regarding Ukraine, which has resulted in various opinion polls showing an increase of independents supporting the impeachment inquiry. Bannon does not believe that these polls are fake news, and the administration should be doing a much better job with messaging.

“The argument that this is all fake news and a deep state witch hunt is just not working,” Bannon said. “Look at the polls. Look at independents. It’s brutal. That’s got to be a fire bell in the night.”

… Bannon says that he will be fashioning his basement into a war room of sorts to re-launch a multi-pronged operation in the weeks to come. The media mogul is back in the saddle as politics in Washington D.C. heats up.

“I’m going all in now, I’ve got to,” Bannon said. “We’re riding to the sound of guns.”

As former U.S. House speaker Tip O’Neill once said, “All politics is local.” Bannon is banking on that maxim holding up as he shapes the future of the America First populist movement across the country.
