Study Finds More Social Media Bots Promote Pro-Ukraine Propaganda Than Pro-Russian Propaganda
A study has shown that social media bots are promoting more pro-Ukraine propaganda than pro-Russian propaganda, which flies in the face of a common trope used by neocons and pro-war liberals.
The study, titled “#IStandWithPutin versus #IStandWithUkraine: The interaction of bots and humans in discussion of the Russia/Ukraine war,” was conducted by researchers at the University of Adeaide in Australia. They found that more bots were used to push the cause of Ukraine in their conflict with Russia than vice versa.
“The patterns of information flows between bot and non-bot account vary based on national lean: Pro-Russian non-bot accounts are most influential overall, with information flows to a variety of other account groups. No significant outward flows exist from pro-Ukrainian non-bot accounts, with significant flows from pro-Ukrainian bot accounts into pro-Ukrainian non-bot accounts,” the study reads.
Big League Politics has reported on the regime propaganda effort to prop up Ukraine as billions in weapons and aid are funneled to the nation’s puppet government:
“The fake news media is propagandizing on behalf of the Azov Battalion, an unabashed Nazi group that exterminated tens of thousands of ethnic Russians after the globalists successfully initiated a color revolution coup in Ukraine in 2014.
The Sunday Times and The Financial Times recently published gushing articles painting the neo-Nazi group as heroic patriots and claiming that they are “fighting the real Nazis of the 21st century.” The article claimed that “Azov has evolved so far from its origins as to make its far-right roots meaningless.”
