Tarrant County Republican Party Passes Resolution Opposing DEI Programs

The Tarrant County Republican Party recently passed a resolution pushing for the abolition of DEI policies in taxpayer-funded institutions.

Emily Medeiros of Texas Scorecard reported that the Tarrant County GOP executive committee, which is made up locally elected precinct chairs, unanimously passed the resolution at its meeting on January 11

Carlos Turcios, the precinct chair who crafted the resolution, described DEI as “a poison in the mindset of the younger generations, and a poison to Texas and America.”

He argues DEI promotes diversity hires, which are designed to displace white Americans who do not fall under an “oppressed minority” class.

On top of that, the resolution calls attention to how DEI “promotes anti-white racism as it argues that white Americans are the reason why discrepancies in GDP per capita, education level, wealth and other areas exist between white Americans and other racial groups.” The resolution stated that these dynamics poison race relations.

“DEI poses a threat to the unitary stability of Texas and the United States as it goes against color blindness and equal protection under the law. It poses a threat to future generations of white Americans or any racial group with lighter skin color as they are antagonized and dehumanized, which can lead to rights being stripped away, systematic oppression, and tyranny, as seen throughout history,” the resolution added.

The Tarrant County GOP calls on other Republican Party county executive committees and conservative organizations to join the push to abolish DEI practices in taxpayer-funded institutions and pass similar resolutions statewide. Resolutions are a solid first step.

However, there needs to be more forceful legislation being passed. With Texas still under comfortable, Republican control, there is no excuse for tougher legislation being passed. Grassroots activists have to continue pushing their elected officials to fully comply with the will of the disgruntled conservative voters in the Lone Star State.
