Texas Representative Ellen Troxclair Is Trying to Hide Her Pro-Establishment Voting Record

Is Texas State House Representative Ellen Troxclair attempting to whitewash her legislative track record?

According to political insiders, several residents in Troxclair’s district — House District 19 — have reported having received as many as 5 pro-Troxclair mail pieces on February 16, 2024.

In response to Troxclair’s desperate attempts to flood mailboxes with material that whitewashes her pro-establishment track record, former pro-liberty House Representative Kyle Biedermann published a post making fun of Troxclair’s propaganda. On February 17, Biedermann published a post featuring a picture with a mailbox that had a caption which read “START SECURING YOUR MAILBOXES. THE AUSTIN TROXCLAIR SWAMP IS COMING.”

Biedermann previously served as representative of HD 73 from 2016 to 2022. He is currently running as a challenger to Troxclair in the GOP primary.

The grassroots community in HD 19 has not bought into the propaganda put forward by Troxclair and co. Facebook groups across the district have been active in fighting Troxclair’s campaign messaging, which has sought to manufacture multiple controversies during the race.

For example, she falsely claimed that Biedermann lied about receiving endorsements from Governor Greg Abbott and Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick. She made these claims without citing how or when Biedermann claimed such endorsements.

Troxclair’s sketchy voting record in addition to grassroots efforts’ to expose her “politics as usual” ethos have created the perception among HD 19 that “Ellen votes with Democrats, Kyle has a conservative record.”

Biedermann’s campaign website details the many flaws in Troxclair’s legislative behavior. For instance, Troxclair joined the Austin Swamp to vote to impeach pro-America First Attorney General Ken Paxton. Thankfully, the Senate cleared him off all charges. However, this entire process cost the taxpayers $5 million in total.

Further, Troxclair receives the bulk of her donations from lobbyists who live outside of the district. Troxclair has been a recipient of $154,000 from Joe Liemandt since 2021. Of note, Liemandt dropped $100,000 to ActBlue Texas — the main fundraising platform for state Democrats.

As far as water and density issues are concerned, Troxclair has intimate ties with big-time developers and lobbyists, which prevent her from backing legislation to preserve and safeguard the precious resources of the Texas Hill Country — that are often in a precarious state.

When it comes to fiscal conservatism, Troxclair can’t be trusted even to deliver here. She voted for the largest spending bill in Texas history that totaled roughly $233,000,000,000 — representing a 42% increase ($69 billion) in spending from the last session.

Last but certainly not least, Troxclair voted for House Speaker Dade Phelan. The current House Speaker is notorious for appointing Democrats to chair important committees, who then proceed to kill grassroots conservative bills. Phelan was also a key actor in the bipartisan effort to impeach America First AG Ken Paxton.

Biedermann has a track record of supporting grassroots conservative reforms such as Constitutional Carry, immigration reform, and property tax relief. If voters in Texas HD 19 want a principled conservative who will shake things up and introduce legislation that the grassroots desires, Biederman is their guy.

On March 5, voters in HD 19 have the opportunity to relieve Troxclair of the burden of holding higher office and replace her with a staunch conservative in Kyle Biedermann.
