Textbook Companies Remove ‘Woke’ Content From Educational Materials After Pressure From Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis

Textbook companies are responding to Republicans cracking down on left-wing indoctrination attempts by removing “woke” content from their materials, in a showing of the effectiveness of Florida Governor Ron DeSantis’ bold leadership.
The Florida Department of Education put their foot down back in April on “attempts to indoctrinate students,” rejecting 54 mathematics textbooks with woke social justice nonsense shoehorned into them. This enraged leftists at the time but was ultimately successful at changing the offensive content. The companies removed the content from their books after pressure from Florida Republicans.
“Publishers are aligning their instructional materials to state standards and removing woke content, allowing the department to add 17 more books to the state adoption list over the past 14 days,” the Florida Department of Education (DoE) announced in a press release.
“Reasons for rejecting textbooks included references to Critical Race Theory (CRT), inclusions of Common Core, and the unsolicited addition of Social Emotional Learning (SEL) in mathematics. The highest number of books rejected were for grade levels K-5, where an alarming 71 percent were not appropriately aligned with Florida standards or included prohibited topics and unsolicited strategies,” the press release added. “Despite rejecting 41 percent of materials submitted, every core mathematics course and grade is covered with at least one textbook.”
UPDATE: In the past 17 days, the Florida Department of Education has been able to add 19 more textbooks to the state adoption list, due to the publishers making changes to align materials to our state standards — per @EducationFL

Commissioner of Education Richard Corcoran said that this is only the beginning of the DeSantis administration going on the offensive to protect children from far-left indoctrination attempts.
“We’re going to ensure that Florida has the highest-quality instructional materials aligned to our nationally-recognized standards,” Corcoran said. “Florida has become a national leader in education under the vision and leadership of Governor DeSantis. When it comes to education, other states continue to follow Florida’s lead as we continue to reinforce parents’ rights by focusing on providing their children with a world-class education without the fear of indoctrination or exposure to dangerous and divisive concepts in our classrooms.”

“Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is vowing to fight the “ministry of truth” that is being enacted by President-imposed Joe Biden to supposedly fight disinformation on social media.
“You cannot have a Ministry of Truth in this country,” DeSantis said. “We’re not going to let Biden get away with this one. We will be fighting back.”
“What they want to do is they want to be able to put out false narratives without people being able to speak out and fight back,” DeSantis added. “They want to be able to say things like ‘Russian collusion’ and perpetuate hoaxes and have people like us be silenced.”
Biden announced that far-left radical Nina Jankowicz would head up the new initiative. DeSantis exposed Jankowicz as an “advocate for COVID lockdowns who herself has put out disinformation about the Hunter Biden tapes, who supported Russian collusion conspiracy theories.”
“This is not acceptable, and in Florida we’re not going to have it,” DeSantis said, adding that the “public is sick of this.”‘
DeSantis is the gold standard in terms of fighting for conservative values. There are no more excuses for Republicans’ lack of action against the Democrat menace.
