The Biden Regime is Preparing for the Mass Evacuation of American Citizens From the Middle East

According to multiple United States officials who were in touch with the Washington Post on October 23, 2023, the US government has been preparing contingencies for a “worst-case scenario” of being compelled to evacuate hundreds of thousands of American citizens from the Middle East.

“[US citizens] living in Israel and neighboring Lebanon are of particular concern,” the officials stated. Per State Department data, nearly 600,000 US citizens were in Israel and an additional 86,000 in Lebanon when Hamas’ Operation Al-Aqsa Flood was launched on October 7.

The contingency plan has been devised as a response to broad-based anger over the US’s blind support for Israel’s punitive campaign against the Palestinians in Gaza.

Since the start of the Israeli military campaign in Gaza, US and Israeli embassies have been subjected to fierce protests across the region calling for an end to the conflict. As a response, the State Department issued a worldwide travel advisory for US citizens, alluding to “increased tensions in various locations around the world, the potential for terrorist attacks, [and] demonstrations or violent actions against US citizens and interests.”

This US government plan came at a time when American military bases in Iraq and Syria have been targeted on a daily basis by Shiite militia groups, thereby compelling the Defense Department to deploy additional air defense systems to shield their troops from these attacks.

What’s unfolding in the Middle East is the product of multiple decades of American meddling in a region that is a perennial powderkeg. If there’s any lesson to be learned from this experience is that the US needs to start restraining its foreign policy and shift defense resources to the defense of the homeland.
