The National Association for Gun Rights Supports Kentucky Rep. Thomas Massie’s Real Constitutional Carry Legislation

Earlier this week, the National Association for Gun Rights announced its backing of Kentucky Congressman Thomas Massie’s Real Constitutional Carry bill, H.R. 9534, that was introduced on September 11, 2024 in the United States House of Representatives.

Constitutional Carry is the basic concept that any individual who is a lawful gun owner can legally carry a firearm, open or concealed, without having to beg the government for permission.

“This is the ONLY bill that will ensure all law-abiding Americans can enjoy Real Constitutional Carry without being subjected to outrageous New York-style permit regulations, expensive fees, or ATF intervention on the right to carry,” stated Dudley Brown, President of the National Association for Gun Rights.

In the present, Americans in 29 states can legally carry a gun without having to pay fees, do paperwork, or wait for the government to grant them permission to do so. Massie’s legislation would extend that liberty to individuals in every state of the US, thereby restoring the right to bear arms that’s enshrined in the Second Amendment.

“Thomas Massie is a gun rights champion, and we support the Real Constitutional Carry bill 100 percent,” declared Brown. “The right of law-abiding citizens to carry a firearm to protect themselves and their families has been chipped away by gun control zealots for decades. But just in the last ten years, grassroots efforts by NAGR members have gotten Constitutional Carry passed in over two dozen states, and it’s time all 50 states enjoy the same freedoms.”
The National Association for Gun Rights is currently gathering petitions to send to Congress in favor of H.R. 9534.

Since he was elected to Congress in 2012, Thomas Massie has been an integral pillar of the liberty conservative movement. He can be reliably counted on to uphold the right to bear arms, support a non-interventionist foreign policy, and support legislation to limit the overall size of the government.
