The Word of the Day is ‘Hostage’

As the Democrats accuse President Donald J. Trump of “manufacturing a crisis” at the border, they have manufactured one of their own: Trump, they say, is holding federal employees and their paychecks “hostage.”

The word has been used by Democrat politicians and talking heads over and over on the air of cable news shows, in live press conferences, and on the internet. Clearly, it is the talking point they were given, and told to stick with. Here is a sampling:

From CNN:

From Sen. Bob Menendez (D-N.J.):

From leftist news outlet NowThis:

From Rep. Al Green (D-Tex.):

From Sen. Jon Tester (D-Mont.):

From Sen. Dick Durbin (D-Ill.):

From the Democratic Party:

From Slate:

From Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.):

From Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.):

From Sen. Mazie Hirono (D-Hawaii) via leftist reporter Edward Hardy:

From anti-Trump Sulu, of Star Trek fame:

From Rep. Katherine Clark (D-Mass.):

From former Trump troll turned MSNBC producer Kyle Griffin:

From Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) via reporter Sahil Kapur:

From internet troll Brian Krassenstein:

There are more examples, but you are probably getting the message right now. America is in the midst of a hostage situation! Nearly one million federal employees are being held hostage by the Trump administration! They are hostages!

Ask yourself: Who is really manufacturing a crisis here?
