Think Tank Plans on Keeping Tabs On Businesses That Don’t Comply With Recent Affirmative Action Ban

In a press release published earlier in November, Center for Equal Opportunity recently announced the creation of its  “After Affirmative Action Network” designed to “monitor compliance with the Supreme Court decisions last term outlawing the use of race in college admissions.”

In June, the Supreme Court issued two landmark decisions striking down affirmative action policies at the University of North Carolina and Harvard University.

In a phone call with The College Fix, Center for Equal Opportunity President and General Counsel Devon Westhill talked about plans for the network.

“We don’t know fully what boundaries the Supreme Court has established.” Westhill stated. “We will find out what the boundaries are in future court cases.”

The network is expected to collect information on colleges’ potential continued use of racial criteria in admissions, Westhill noted, which includes the use of an anonymous tip submission form.

Westhill noted that research for the new AAA Network will depend on tips from current connections with faculty, staff, and students.

In addition, Westhill called attention to how several colleges continue to use indirect methods to determine the race of applicants.

He alluded to Columbia Law’s previous requirement of applicants to reply to prompts with “video statements,” as outlined in a cached page on the school’s website.

Columbia ended up scrapping this requirement and eliminated the request from the website as a response to a media probe launched by the Washington Free Beacon

Furthermore, Westhill highlighted college guidelines put forth by the Biden regime after the Harvard/UNC ruling as an additional example of indirect efforts to maintain affirmative action in the admissions process.

The White House, the Department of Justice, and the Department of Education all published statements and guidelines urging universities to continue using the race of students in applications.

On September 28, 2023, the Department of Education published a report titled “Strategies for Increasing Diversity and Opportunity In Higher Education.” The strategies it put forward are made up of targeted recruitment programs and factoring in hardships faced by applicants “including but not limited to racial discrimination”.

“The Biden Administration believes these methods are legitimate, but whether they are legally right is another matter,” Westhill declared “It raises a number of issues, especially with separation of powers, that the Biden Administration would do this after a coequal branch of government made a ruling.”

In this same conversation with The College Fix, Westhill stressed that CEO is a non-partisan organization and looks to work with people across the political spectrum.

“We want to see a color blind and equal environment for everyone,” he commented. “It is the right thing as a policy, because it is the right thing legally, and because it is the right thing morally. This is a non partisan issue.”

“We hope that both people who are right of center and people who are left of center would contribute to this issue because it’s the right thing to do and because everyone should be treated equally.”

CEO “invites participation in [its] project from faculty, administrators, students, alumni, and other interested parties across the country who can share information on admissions changes at their schools,” per the news release. “CEO will provide journalists, lawmakers, litigators, and others access to this information through periodic briefings and by sharing open records request findings and analyses.”

The mission of the organization “is to study, develop, and disseminate ideas that promote colorblind equal opportunity and nondiscrimination in America,” per its website.

Affirmative action is anti-white racism plain and simple. It’s a tool used by managerial elites to dispossess the Historic American Nation. While the Supreme Court rightfully struck down this measure, the Left simply will not comply with this decision. These people are only interested in power and will do everything possible to continue pushing their anti-white project forward.

For that reason, organizations like CEO play an important role in ensuring that these anti-white schemes are fully exposed and eventually scuttled.
