Trump Affiliated PACs Spent Close to $50 Million on Legal Fees in 2023

Throughout the year, Trump was indicted four times, which counseled him to spend roughly $50 million in donor money on legal expenses and expenses connected to investigations in 2023.

Most of Trump’s political bills consisted of accounts spent on his multiple legal defenses, which includes lawyers for legal counsel.

Trump has used money in his political action committee, Save America, to fund his legal bill. Initially, the account received a large injection of donations that were gathered during the period right after the 2020 election when Trump was making claims about voter fraud and other foul play that took place during the 2020 elections.

After Save America almost ran out of money in 2023, Trump requested a refund of $60 million that he initially sent to a different organization, the pro-Trump super PAC MAGA Inc, to back his 2024 campaign.

On top of that, Trump has been sending 10% of donations he raised online to Save America. In effect, donors to Trump are helping him with his mounting legal fees.

Trump has been paying legal fees through both Save America and a second account, the Make America Great Again PAC, which grew out of his 2020 re-election committee. In the first half of 2023, Save America sent $5.85 million to the Make America Great Again PAC, which spent nearly all of that total on costs connected to legal fees and investigations.

The nearly $50 million figure is a combination of costs incurred by both groups.

Trump’s super PAC, MAGA Inc., refunded $30 million to Save America in the second half of 2023. On top of that, the super PAC refunded $12.5 million that it previously reported that it gave back in the first half of 2023.

There’s a clear strategy by the political Left to drag Trump into a protracted legal battle to bleed him dry. All these indictments serve that purpose. The Left knows that it can’t win through debates so they’ll use every means at their disposal to render Trump ineffective as a presidential candidate in 2024, thereby depriving voters of a legitimate America first option.
