Trump Warns About the Dangers of War As Proxy War in Ukraine Continues With No End In Sight
In a recent “Agenda 47” campaign video, former President Donald Trump declared that “every day this proxy battle in Ukraine continues, we risk global war. “Our foreign policy establishment keeps trying to pull the world into conflict with a nuclear-armed Russia based on the lie that Russia represents our greatest threat. But the greatest threat to Western Civilization today is not Russia. It’s probably, more than anything else, ourselves and some of the horrible, U.S.A.-hating people that represent us,” Trump added.
“These globalists want to squander all of America’s strength, blood, and treasure, chasing monsters and phantoms overseas—while keeping us distracted from the havoc they’re creating right here at home,” Trump went on.
“Evicting the sick and corrupt establishment is the monumental task for the next president. And I’m the only one who can do it,” the former president proclaimed.
Trump’s sentiments in this speech are spot on. None of the national security state — from the State Department, the defense bureaucracy, the intelligence community, and similar agencies — have the best interests of Middle America in mind. Trump is correct that in the short-term these institutions need to be “completely overhauled and reconstituted to fire the Deep Staters and put America First.”
However, we must go further by defunding and abolishing these institutions.
Let’s be honest here, Trump has solid political instincts, but when it came to execution of staffing decisions during his presidency, he left a lot to be desired. By bringing on interventionist parasites like John Bolton and Mike Pompeo, Trump demonstrated several decision-making flaws.
Hopefully, he has learned the error of his ways. Because if he hasn’t, America will be on the path to imperial decline due to its overstretched empire and unwillingness to dial back.
