Truth Or Lie? Biden Says He Received No ‘Advance Notice’ Of Mar-a-Lago Raid

White House Occupant Joe Biden insisted he received no type of advanced warning that the FBI would raid Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate on August 8th. This news comes after it was revealed that a letter written in April stated that Biden empowered the National Archives to examine a group of classified documents taken by the 45th president earlier this year.

“Mr. President, how much advance notice did you have of the FBI’s plan to search Mar-a-Lago?” Fox News White House correspondent Peter Doocy asked Biden at a Wednesday press conference.

“I didn’t have any advance notice,” Biden responded. “None. Zero. Not one single bit.”

Other representatives of the White House expressed similar denial, including Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, who stated: “No, the president was not briefed, was not aware of it. No, no one at the White House was given a heads up. No, that did not happen.”

In a recent public correspondence, former President Trump’s legal team proved that the White House counsel’s office had asked the National Archives on April 11th to “provide the FBI access to the 15 boxes for its review within seven days.”

The raid on Trump’s home was arguably quite thorough. After obtaining a search warrant on August 5th, federal agents reportedly seized 27 boxes of materials, which included 11 sets of classified documents allegedly labeled top secret, secret, or confidential. The FBI notably waited a whole three days before ultimately executing the search.

A now-released May 10 letter written by Trump lawyer Evan Corcoran revealed that he requested that National Archives general counsel Gary Stern hold up any coerced handover of documents “until we have had the opportunity to review the documents and to consult with President Donald J. Trump so that he may personally make any decision to assert a claim of constitutionally based privilege.”

Acting National Archivist Debra Steidel Wall denied this claim, arguing that Supreme Court precedent “strongly suggests that a former President may not successfully assert executive privilege ‘against the very Executive Branch in whose name the privilege is invoked.’”

“I have therefore decided not to honor the former President’s ‘protective’ claim of privilege,” Wall wrote, clearly indicating that her actions hinged on the approval of Joe Biden, “The Counsel to the President has informed me that, in light of the particular circumstances presented here, President Biden defers to my determination, in consultation with the Assistant Attorney General for the Office of Legal Counsel, regarding whether or not I should uphold the former President’s purported ‘protective assertion of executive privilege.’”

Numerous Republican representatives have expressed outrage in reaction to the new revelations.

”We KNEW Biden had to be lying when he said he didn’t know about the Trump raid,” declared Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.) “Now the truth is coming out.”

”1. White House staff has repeatedly claimed there was “no prior knowledge” of the raid. Clearly, that was a lie,” posted Rep. Brian Mast (R-Fla.) “2. Joe Biden has not said a word about it in two weeks. What else is he trying to hide from the American people?”
