Tucker Carlson BLASTS Justin Trudeau Over Gun Grab, Creeping Authoritarianism In Canada

Fox New’s Tucker Carlson called out Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau for using the tragic massacre in Uvalde, Texas, as an excuse to push new gun laws in Canada on law-abiding citizens.

“[Trudeau is] using the tragedy in the US to his own political advantage,” Carlson said during his show on Tuesday.

Carlson is referring to the new “national freeze” on the buying, selling, transferring, or importing of handguns Trudeau introduced on May 30. As the Prime Minister put it, these new gun control measures will “protect communities.”

How exactly will this new law do that? As Tucker Carlson pointed out, it won’t.

“Two years ago, our government banned 1,500 models of assault-style weapons… We also expanded background checks to keep firearms out of the wrong hands,” said Trudeau in his statement on Monday. “… Now, as we see gun violence continue to rise, it is our duty to keep taking action.”

“What this means is that it will no longer be possible to buy, sell, transfer, or import handguns anywhere in Canada,” Trudeau said to applause.

But Carlson called out the Canadian Prime Minister for the obvious. “Now, Uvalde is more than 2,000 miles from Ottawa,” Carlson began, “but because of what Salvador Ramos was allowed to do in Texas, Canadians are no longer allowed to protect themselves.”

The Fox News host went on to explain that Trudeau’s law – if passed – would “allow courts to confiscate guns from people even if they’ve not committed a crime.”

Carlson then went on to ask the million-dollar question: What is really going on here?

Further highlighting the hypocrisy in Trudeau’s rhetoric, Carlson made the point that the Prime Minister uses guns to protect himself and his family, questioning why shouldn’t Canadian law-abiding citizens be allowed to do the same?

“What’s actually happening here,” he continued, “is that people like Justin Trudeau … know perfectly well how resented they are, and they spend an awful lot of time thinking about civil unrest.”

“You probably don’t. You live in a democracy, so you don’t imagine that anyone needs to be disarmed for political reasons, but people like Justin Trudeau can feel the deep resentment aimed at them, and they are fully intent on disarming the population,” the host added.

Ex-NHL player Theo Fleury joined Carlson on his show to discuss the creeping authoritarianism in Canada.

“The great reset—whatever the hell you want to call it—it is happening in Canada … and it’s gotta stop,” Carlson said in his segment with Fleury – WATCH:
