Twice-Convicted Illegal Felon Caught Attempting to Re-enter United States

An illegal alien who was convicted of both child molestation and kidnapping in separate incidents was picked up by border patrol for attempting to once again cross into the United States illegally.

“According to the El Centro Sector Border Patrol station, agents arrested Mexican national Jose C. Gomez, 63, Monday afternoon approximately 11 miles west of the Calexico Port of Entry. Gomez was suspected of illegally entering the United States,” according KESQ.

In Georgia, Gomez was convicted for molesting a child in 2007. He served less than five years in prison, and was deported in 2011. Back in 1999, he had been convicted of felony abduction and kidnapping in Virginia.

“Gomez is being held in federal custody pending prosecution for re-entry after removal,” the report said. “So far in fiscal year 2019, El Centro Sector Border Patrol agents have arrested four convicted sex offenders attempting to enter the U.S. illegally.”

Gomez’s case highlights America’s broken immigration system, which under-punishes illegals for horrific crimes, sometimes deports them, and often allows them to cross the wide open border back into the country. Fortunately, Gomez was caught by the fine folks at Border Patrol.

Millions of others are not.
