Twitter Mocks Nancy Pelosi After Husband’s DUI, ‘Can’t Really Blame Him’

Over the weekend, Democrat House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s husband was arrested in California for driving under the influence.

According to a report from TMZ: “The House Speaker’s spouse was arrested just before midnight Saturday night in Napa County, and then booked hours later into jail on two counts — driving under the influence and driving with a blood alcohol content level of 0.08 or higher … both misdemeanors.”

Per arrest records, the two misdemeanors Paul Pelosi was arrested for were:

(a) It is unlawful for a person who is under the influence of any alcoholic beverage to drive a vehicle. (b) It is unlawful for a person who has 0.08 percent or more, by weight, of alcohol in his or her blood to drive a vehicle.

When the TMZ report was first published, the exact details were hazy, and no mugshot had been released. Regardless, TMZ was sure enough that it was Paul Pelosi who had been arrested, so they went ahead and broke this story it publicly.

“The arrest info here lines up with what we know about Paul publicly,” the outlet said. “Especially his birthday — listed as April 15, 1940. Indeed, the guy’s 82 years old.”

Nancy Pelosi was giving a commencement speech at Brown University during the incident.

Paul Pelosi’s bail was set to $5,000. Which is nothing considering the couple owns an estate in Napa Valley on Zinfandel Lane that is said to be worth somewhere between 5 and 25 million.

“The couple also collects between $5,001 and $15,000 in income from the sale of grapes grown at the vineyard,” the Los Angeles Times reported.

As Tim Young put it on Twitter, “Nancy Pelosi’s husband got a DUI today… I bet he won’t see a day in jail and at most he’ll only get a minor fine.”

“Now, if any of us commoners got a DUI… we’d be in for $15k, maybe a week behind bars and parole for at least a year,” he added.

Since the news about Paul Pelosi’s DUI became public knowledge, the House Speaker has faced a variety of responses online.

Most of which, as expected, have mocked Paul over the stupidity of this incident. Not to mention the fact that he’s 82 years old.

Some users on Twitter, like Mark Levin, made jabs at the House Speaker. Saying that they would probably get a DUI too if they were married to Nancy Pelosi.

Others asked jokingly: When is the house speaker going to pin this entire situation on Vladimir Putin?

Eventually, Nancy Pelosi’s office announced that they would not be commenting on the news.

“The Speaker will not be commenting on this private matter which occurred while she was on the East Coast,” Pelosi Spokesman Drew Hammill said in a statement.
