UNC-Wilmington Closes Down Anti-White Education Office
The University of North Carolina Wilmington recently closed its “diversity and inclusion” office, according to a report by the College Fix.
The university announced its decision to close up its Office of Institutional Diversity and Inclusion last week, per WECT News.
“Based on policy requirements and consistent with System Office guidance, UNCW will close the Office of Institutional Diversity and Inclusion (OIDI), eliminate the Chief Diversity Officer position and shift the cultural and identity centers from OIDI to Student Affairs,” Chancellor Aswani K. Volety declared in a message addressed to the school.
“Careful and deliberate thought was given to the impact on students, staff, programs and services. Three principles guided our decisions: (1) Comply with the policy’s requirements. (2) Support students’ needs for continued success. (3) Take care of our permanent staff to the best of our ability,” Volety proclaimed.
On top of that, he noted that another option was to fire several employees.
As part of a transition process, UNCW’s 15 Office of Institutional Diversity and Inclusion employees have been offered new positions in other departments. Furthermore, Chief Diversity Officer Dr. Donyell Roseboro will hold a new role in the Watson College of Education, per Port City Daily.
This new policy will also have an effect on the university’s cultural centers, which includes the Upperman African American Cultural Center, Centro Hispano, the Mohin-Scholz LGBTQIA Resource Center, and the Asian Heritage Cultural Center. Volety announced that “some aspects of their staffing and programming will change to comply with the policy requirements and enhance their fit within Student Affairs.”
Volety also stated: “The centers will continue to focus on creating and sustaining a sense of belonging for historically marginalized students while also providing support, service and educational programs to benefit all students.”
There has been a growing trend within the UNC system to gut the DEI programs. Back in May, the UNC System Board of Governors voted in favor of a measure to scrap a policy that mandated the presence of DEI offices on each of its 17 campuses.
In turn, the board scrapped the policy and replaced it with a new order requiring “each institution to certify by Sept. 1 that it fully complies with the university’s commitment to institutional neutrality and nondiscrimination,’” according to a WRAL News report.
Other university systems such as the University of Alabama system closed their DEI divisions in order to comply with a new state law banning public schools and universities from allocating taxpayer funds to DEI programs.
Getting rid of DEI programs on campus is a good first step. DEI is a toxic, anti-white ideology that has no business on US campuses. Universities should be about elevating people’s intellect while also providing them with the skills to be prepared for the real world of the modern-day workplace.
Filling their heads with anti-white drivel is not the way to go. Make no mistake about it, the anti-white parasites crawling around university campuses will try to insinuate themselves into other positions of power within the university apparatus. As a result, Republican-controlled states should build on the DEI bans by firing staff and faculty that push anti-white indoctrination on university campuses.
No more slaps on the wrist for these freaks.
