United Nations Agency Rolls Out Plan to Regulate Speech On Big Tech Platforms

The United Nations’ Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) has recently rolled out a new plan to continue waging its “war on misinformation.”

Director-General Audrey Azoulay put forward an action plan, proclaiming that online disinformation is “a major threat to stability and social cohesion.”

A press release unveiling the plan labeled the phenomenon of misinformation as “a scourge” and one that is allegedly getting worse after each passing day. Since the Wuhan virus era, misinformation has been a major bugaboo for globalist elites who are obsessed with shutting down all forms of dissent.

The plan consists of pushing for social media companies to hire additional  “moderators” that speak all the main languages of the globe and would be tasked with maintaining  “effective control of content.” There is a considerable focus on bolstering censorship tools in languages other than English.

In the UNESCO press release, “electoral integrity” appears in the press release, which proposes the solution of “risk assessment” in addition to flagging content, and additional “transparency” around political ads.

Most of the language deployed in this press release is euphemistic terminologies for an otherwise pro-censorship agenda. Given the UN’s globalist nature, it can always be counted on to advance programs that attack free speech.

That, among other reasons, justifies the US government’s withdrawal from this wretched institution. The last thing we need is a supranational body trying to impose an anti-freedom agenda on the American populace.
