United States Government Cracks Down On Financial Businesses That Aid Russia’s Purchase OF Military Gear
On December 22, 2023, the Biden regime announced its plan to punish banks and financial service companies that are assisting Russia skirt stringent sanctions on its ability to access military technology and equipment that are facilitating its ability to carry out military operations in Ukraine.
Since Russia launched its “special military operation” in Ukraine on February 24, 2022, governments in the United States and Europe have slapped stringent sanctions on Russia in the last two years.
However, a black market network of traders and smugglers, working with the support of financial enterprises of sketchy origins, have been allegedly helping Russia obtain prohibited products that it needs to replenish its military arsenal.
On December 22, 2023, Treasury Secretary Janet L. Yellen warned financial institutions to help with supplying Russia’s war effort
“No one should doubt the resolve of the United States and our partners when weighing the real risks associated with support for Russian evasion,” Yellen declared in a statement. “We expect financial institutions will undertake every effort to ensure that they are not witting or unwitting facilitators of circumvention and evasion.”
The Russian intelligence community and Ministry of Defense have used networks that are facilitating Russia’s access to prohibited materials by sending them to other countries from which they can be exported to Russia with ease. This has allegedly allowed the Russian government to obtain access to key technology that can help its military.
On December 22, President Joe Biden signed an executive order granting the Treasury Department the power to impose sanctions on banks and other financial institutions that are facilitating these illegal transactions and enabling smugglers to receive payment. Senior Biden regime officials described these newfound powers as a tool that would enable the US government to stymie Russia’s military-industrial complex.
The US is still waging a proxy war against Russia in both economic and indirect military terms. The outcome of the war in Ukraine is already set in stone. Ukraine will lose and be ultimately partitioned.
Further continuing this conflict will just guarantee the absolute destruction of Ukraine as we know it.
