United States Government Pressures Arab Allies To Clamp Down on Funding of Hamas

The Biden regime has been pushing its Arab allies to help clamp down on increased funding by the Hamas terrorist organization shortly after the group launched an attack on Israel on October 7, 2023.

A meeting of the Terrorist Financing Targeting Center took place on October 23 in the capital of Saudi Arabia, Riyadh. This group was formed in 2017 and is made up of the United States, Saudi Arabia, and five other Gulf Arab nations.

US Under Secretary for Terrorism and Financial Intelligence, Brian Nelson urged GCC countries to send the US government intelligence that could potentially be useful in imposing sanctions on several individuals or entities.

“This moment should bring a profound sense of urgency, clarity, and purpose to the work that we do. The ability to act — to cut off the financial flows that feed terrorism — is a duty we all share,” Nelson stated.

On top of that, Nelson noted that critical humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip, which includes food, medicine, and water, would not face sanctions. After meeting in Saudi Arabia, Nelson went to Qatar.

A notable number of Hamas leaders and emissaries have long set up shop in Qar. Hamas has historically received substantial amounts of financial and political support from the Qatari government.

Currently, Qatar is making efforts to assist with the mediation of the release of Israeli prisoners who were kidnapped from the settlements in the periphery of Gaza when Hamas kicked off its military campaign against Israel — Operation Al-Aqsa Flood

“The Biden administration is asking its Gulf Arab allies to look as closely as possible at the operations of previously sanctioned Hamas-linked charities and entities in their jurisdictions as well as any suspicious activities by newly created ones,”  a Bloomberg report noted, citing the words of an anonymous US official.

In a statement, a UAE official highlighted that his country “is committed to combating illegal financial activities such as money laundering and financing of terrorism.”

Due to the Zionist capture of foreign policy decisionmaking, the US continues to put an unnecessary amount of focus on the Middle East. At some point, US policymakers will need to grow a spine and start telling Israel, and other countries that the US is aligned with, that they must start defending themselves without Uncle Sam’s aid.

The US is simply too over-stretched on the foreign policy front.
