US Government Warns of Taking Military Action Against Houthis for Red Sea Shipping Attacks

The Biden regime has faced increased pressure to respond militarily to Houthi fighters in Yemen as they ramp up attacks on naval and commercial vessels in the Red Sea.

The Biden regime has been rather gun shy about escalating tensions in the Middle East out of fear that it could blow up into a broader war.

“As we’ve demonstrated in the past,” Defense Department spokesperson General Patrick Ryder stated. “Our military will not hesitate to take action where we deem it necessary and appropriate, including to protect against actions in the maritime domain that could threaten our troops.”

Since Hamas’ October 7, 2023, Hamas attack on Israel, the Houthis have destabilized international shipping across the Arabian Peninsula, by attacking Israeli-owned ships and attacking vessels they assert are heading towards Israel.

Ever since the Houthis were able to take control of the

Galaxy Leader, which is partially owned by a British company under the control of an Israeli shipping oligarch, the Houthis have used ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and drones to carry out attacks against commercial vessels and US military assets.

“Washington has a few options to respond to the Houthi escalation in the Red Sea, but none of them are ‘good,'” declared Michael A. Horowitz, head of intelligence at Le Beck International.

American authorities have sent messages to the Houthis through backchannels in an attempt to halt their attacks.

Politico reported that the Defense Department has ordered the Dwight D. Eisenhower Carrier Strike Group to sail away the Persian Gulf and head to the Gulf of Aden, right off Yemen’s coast, in what looks like an attempt to directly attack the Houthis.

The US tried to cobble together an international coalition to confront the Houthis to little avail.

At the end of the day, these escalations against the Houthi are designed to send a message to Iran, which has been suspected of sending the Houthis munitions. Neocons and their Zionist colleagues desperately want a war with Iran, a conflict that would turn out to be a geopolitical disaster of colossal proportions.

Cooler heads need to prevail here for the sake of maintaining international stability and protecting the US from falling down the path of imperial overstretch.
