VIDEO: Jeb Bush Releases Gushing Endorsement of Ron DeSantis for President, Likens Him to His Father

Former Florida governor and failed 2016 presidential candidate Jeb Bush offered effusive praise of current Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, who is readying his own run for the presidency in 2024.

“There are people in public life who are kind of check-the-box politicians and then there are others who want to serve, and Governor DeSantis is one of those,” Bush said during a recent Fox News profile meant to bolster DeSantis’ presidential ambitions.

Jeb Bush compared DeSantis to his father, George H.W. Bush, who like DeSantis went to Yale University and was captain of the baseball team while attending the elitist institution. Jeb made it explicitly clear that he supports DeSantis’ ambitions for the presidency in 2024.

“Is this Ron DeSantis’ opportunity to run for higher office?” Fox News journalist Brian Kilmeade asked Bush.

“I think it is. He’s been a really effective governor. He’s young. I think we’re on the verge of a generational change in our politics. I kinda hope so. I think it’s time for a more forward-leaning, future-oriented conversation within our politics as well,” Bush said, spouting a load of gibberish that is code for “DeSantis is controllable by the establishment.”

Big League Politics reported on how the elder Bush groomed DeSantis while DeSantis was at Yale when the two men met:

Before Florida Governor Ron DeSantis hitched himself to the Trump Train, he was an average establishment Republican in U.S. Congress. DeSantis’ statements early in his political career show his true ideological underpinnings.

In one video, DeSantis responded that former President George Bush was the “most inspirational person” he had ever met. DeSantis said that he met Bush while attending Yale. Both men went to the prestigious Ivy League school, and DeSantis rubbed elbows when Bush came back to visit in 2001.
