WATCH: Ben Shapiro Tries to Debate Someone Older Than 18, Gets Wrecked, Throws Temper Tantrum
Anti-Trump neoconservative pundit Ben Shapiro made an attempt to debate someone other than a teenage socialist on a college campus, and was immediately regretful.
He made an appearance on BBC with host Andrew Neil, during which he was faced with questions about past Tweets which were unkind to Palestinians in the context of whether he was lowering the bar for public discourse. Shapiro, known for his Zionism, immediately took offense to the line of questioning.
“You know, honestly, this is a giant waste of time in the sense that the entire interview is designed for you to shout slogans or old things that I’ve said at me,” Shapiro said. “I don’t see how this forwards the debate. You talk about, you talk about undermining the public discourse – it seems to me that simply going through and finding lone things that sound bad out of context and then hitting them with – and then hitting people with them – is a way for you to make a quick buck on BBC of off the fact that I’m popular, and no one has ever heard of you.”
Shapiro pulled rank again after he was questioned further.
“You can think whatever you want of me,” he said. “Frankly, I don’t care – I don’t frankly give a damn what you think of me since I’ve never heard of you.”
Shortly thereafter, Shapiro cut the interview short.
As it turns out, debating someone with more intellect than a leftist millennial isn’t in Shapiro’s wheelhouse. He proved as much at the end of last year, when we attempted to take on Tucker Carlson, and failed miserably.
