Why Does the White House Refer to the “Biden-Harris Administration” Rather Than the “Biden Administration?”

A leaked email has revealed that the federal government will call the current White House occupants the “Biden-Harris Administration” in all official public communications.

The email was obtained and posted in an exclusive report by Outspoken. The employee who leaked the email requested anonymity and said it was sent to a federal agency dealing in foreign affairs.

Please be sure to reference the current administration as the ‘Biden-Harris Administration’ in official public communications,” the email read. Outspoken says that this email “came from a top White House communications team member” and applies to all federal government agencies.

The White House website and the White House Twitter account have all referred to the “Biden-Harris Administration” since January, but Outspoken notes that this is unusual. When Donald Trump was president the White House Twitter account bio said, “Welcome to @WhiteHouse! Follow for the latest from President @realDonaldTrump and his Administration.” When Barack Obama was president it said, “Follow for the latest from President Obama and his administration.”

Outspoken also notes the following:

The highly specific language also appears on the websites of all 15 executive departments. Press releases and other communications from the Departments of Agriculture, Commerce, Defense, Education, Energy, Health and Human Services, Homeland Security, Housing and Urban Development, Interior, Labor, State, Transportation, Treasury, and Veterans Affairs, and the Attorney General all exclusively refer to the Biden-Harris Administration, in lieu of only naming the president, which has been customary until now.

For his part Joe Biden has “slipped up” and referred to Kamala Harris as “President Harris” on more than one occasion. Biden has not held a press conference since he became president, his handlers appear wary of letting him talk unscripted for extended lengths of time, and he often looks a bit detached from his surroundings.

If you’re a regular reader of Big League Politics, chances are you know exactly what’s going on with the “Biden-Harris Administration” language. The signs are unmistakable.
