Why is Tom Davis Stumping for Nikki Haley in Iowa?
South Carolina Senator Tom Davis was recently called out by Mobilize the Message CEO Cliff Maloney for his decision to stump for neocon presidential candidate Nikki Haley ahead of the Iowa Caucuses.
In a video posted on January 12, 2024, Maloney declared that Davis’ support for Haley is “not going to be good for you in the long haul.” He added “You’ve spent your entire career saying you’re a liberty warrior and now you’re headed to Iowa to stump for Nikki Haley.”
What the HELL happened to Tom Davis in South Carolina?
It’s despicable to see so-called “liberty champions” fall for Nikki Haley.
They’re drunk.
I’m with Thomas Massie and Rand Paul… which means…

Davis previously endorsed Haley on February 19, 2023. In a tweet he posted that day, he said “I’ve known @NikkiHaley for 20 years. We started serving at the same time: me as gov chief of staff, she as SC House member. She’s risen from legislator to governor, to UN Ambassador, to prez candidate. Americans will learn what I know: she has the gravitas necessary for this run.”

Ironically, Davis endorsed former Texas Congressman Ron Paul’s 2012 presidential campaign. For the most part, Davis has maintained a pro-liberty track record in the South Carolina Senate since he first assumed office in 2008.
However, it now appears that he wants to latch himself on to a suspicious neocon candidacy as opposed to supporting genuine anti-establishment candidates who are more likely to pursue policies that Davis has championed in the South Carolina Senate.
Daniel McAdams, the Director of the Ron Paul Institute, also chimed in on Davis’ endorsement by pointing out that not all Ron Paul supporters came to their views out of philosophical conviction:
“Not everyone in those circles back then were “Ron Paul guys.” Some were just chasing paychecks and dressing in liberty drag.”
One can only hope that Davis comes to senses and reverse course on this endorsement. The last thing we need is another sell-out politician.
