Will Paul Ryan Get His Old Job Back? Oscar Mayer Looking for New Wienermobile Driver

Oscar Mayer is in search of a new driver for its famed Weinermobile, a job for which former Republican Speaker of the House Paul Ryan is certainly qualified.

“If driving a 27-foot long hot dog on wheels has always been a dream, now is your chance to make that dream come true,” said a Monday KVUE report. “Oscar Mayer is now hiring Wienermobile drivers, also known as ‘Hotdoggers’, for a one year position with the company beginning in June, 2019.”

Ryan is a former Hotdogger, who has likely not lost his hotdogging touch after spending 20 years acting like a weenie in Congress.

“The Wienermobile is an easier job, I’ll put it that way,” Ryan said in 2018. “You’re more popular driving the Wienermobile than being Speaker of the House.”

Maybe that’s true – for Ryan, at least. The former Speaker is free, given his retirement from the legislature. He has not yet announced his next move, but this could be a fantastic, if not nostalgic opportunity for him.

“Created in 1936 by Carl Mayer, the Wienermobile has become a staple for the Oscar Mayer brand. The company has six Wienermobiles traveling across the country right now,” said KVUE.
