WV’s Jim Justice Calls for Reopening Businesses to “F****** Follow the Guidelines”

West Virginia Governor Jim Justice dropped an f-bomb during a press conference on the reopening of West Virginia businesses on Monday, perhaps showing his frustration after weeks of coronavirus-related difficulty in the state.

“I encourage all businesses that are allowed to open to do so only… if they f****** follow the guidelines to keep West Virginia safe.”
It’s hard to imagine why Governor Justice let the f-bomb fly during the reopening press conference, but it seems from his phrasing that the curse word was a bit of a Freudian slip. Governors across the country are emphasizing that states won’t be able to safely and effectively reopening if private businesses don’t use common sense safety procedures to minimize vectors of infection for the coronavirus disease.
Some scripted politicians such as establishment Democrat Beto O’Rourke have taken to dropping the f-bomb casually in an attempt to widen their political appeal, but Governor Justice is a self-identifying devout Christian who almost certainly wouldn’t drop the curse word intentionally.
Justice’s office hasn’t clarified why the Governor let the profanity slip, further suggesting that it was an unfortunate accident.
