Recent polling indicates that the overwhelming majority of Republicans side with President Donald Trump over Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) in their struggle over the future of the GOP.
McConnell has used last week’s violence in the Capitol to agitate against Trump, even flirting with the idea of impeaching the president. Ten Congressional Republicans joined the Democrats to impeach Trump for a second time on Wednesday.
However, McConnell’s feud with Trump comes at the peril of his career prospects. Republicans side with Trump, believing that Trump is right in his complaints about corruption.
An Axios-Ipsos poll shows that a firm majority of Republicans believe Trump was just to oppose election fraud, that he bares no responsibility in what happened at the U.S. Capitol, and they hope he runs again for the presidency in 2024.
Additionally, the results of the poll show a divide that has formed within the GOP. 56 percent of respondents consider themselves “traditional Republicans” while 36 percent of respondents consider themselves “Trump Republicans.” There is likely considerable overlap between the two groups as well, which should scare the likes of McConnell and his special interest masters.
The findings show that the “Trump Republicans” are on board with their president like never before and will be the most formidable anti-establishment constituency in GOP history.

Big League Politics has reported about McConnell’s shameful betrayal of Trump since election day, playing political games with the American people and likely costing two U.S. Senate seats in Georgia:
On Tuesday, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) obstructed a bill that would have given $2,000 stimulus checks to Americans who have had their lives decimated by COVID-19 lockdown policies.
McConnell gave the rationale that he was going to add repeal of Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act and an election fraud investigation to the measure…
However, McConnell’s stunt is not likely going to accomplish anything other than to dupe Republicans into thinking he is on their side.
Adding Section 230 repeal to the measure along with an election fraud investigation will likely doom the legislation and make it impossible to be passed. McConnell is playing partisan political games while American families are struggling to make ends meet.
Policy analyst Rachel Bovard noted that McConnell’s legislation contains language that would make it a total non-starter even if it were to pass in the Senate…
McConnell is showing his true colors with his back against the wall. He is an unrepentant Washington D.C. swamp rat all the way. His corrupt leadership may result in a total collapse of the Republican Party.
The Republican Party has been changed forever, and the establishment’s denial of that truth will only seal their fate even faster.
PATHETIC: National Guard Booted to Parking Lot After Democrat Congressman Complained They Weren’t Wearing Masks
The Democrat complained about masks.
New reports suggest that a detachment of National Guard personnel present in Washington, DC for Inauguration duties were kicked out of their spartan lodging in the Capitol to a parking lot after a Democrat Congressman complained that one of the guardsmen wasn’t wearing a mask at a Dunkin’ Donuts inside the Capitol.
Breitbart News has learned that Massachusetts Democrat Will Keating reported that he encountered a soldier at the Capitol without a mask. When Keating told the guardsman to wear a mask, the service member told Keating, “I appreciate my freedom.”
This event reportedly led to the entire National Guard detachment being kicked out of their lodging inside a Capitol lobby to an outdoor parking lot, where they were exposed to freezing temperatures.
Keating has declined to comment on the exchange, with reports suggesting he reported the incident to Capitol Police. This led to the Guard being booted outside as a punishment.
“Yesterday dozens of senators and congressmen walked down our lines taking photos, shaking our hands and thanking us for our service. Within 24 hours, they had no further use for us and banished us to the corner of a parking garage. We feel incredibly betrayed,” one Guard member told Politico about being kicked to the curb.
Establishment Democrats had been eager to use the military service members as political props, even after a fiasco in which they were caught trying to purge conservative-leaning Guard personnel for insufficiently loyalty to the Biden government. Governor Ron DeSantis of Florida and Greg Abbott of Texas recalled the detachments of their state National Guards from DC following the second incident of disrespect to the troops, with the former rejecting the idea of FL Guard members being utilized as Nancy Pelosi’s personal servants.
