Constitutional Sheriff in California Refuses to Enforce Governor Newsom’s ‘Flat Out Ridiculous’ Lockdown Mandates

Riverside County Sheriff Chad Bianco is pushing back against California Governor Gavin Newsom’s latest round of COVID-19 lockdown insanity.
Bianco is calling Newsom’s forced shuttering of businesses and stay-at-home mandates “flat out ridiculous” and will not enforce them in his county.
“The metrics used for closures are unbelievably faulty and are not representative of true numbers and are disastrous for Riverside County,” the sheriff said in a video that was released last week.
Bianco also blasted Newsom for his “do as I say, not as I do attitude” in attending a massive dinner party while simultaneously banning California residents from doing so.
“The dictatorial attitude toward California residents, while dining and luxury traveling, keeping his business open and sending his kids to in-person private schools is very telling about his attitude toward California residents, his feelings about the virus, and it is extremely hypocritical,” Bianco said.
He believes that stopping coronavirus is a matter of personal responsibility and calls on county residents to behave respectfully and take common sense precautions to slow the spread of COVID-19.
“As has been our position from the beginning of this pandemic, the Sheriff’s Department is asking and expecting Riverside County residents to act responsibly and do what they can to protect themselves and their family from contracting the virus,” Bianco said.

According to the California Globe, Newsom has emulated Trump’s strategy of providing daily updates on how the respective leaders are fighting the crisis. In one of the press briefings, a Bloomberg reporter asked Newsom if he was going to use the crisis to put California on a an even more progressive path.
“There is opportunity for reimagining a progressive era as it pertains to capitalism,” Newsom stated. “So yes, absolutely we see this as an opportunity to reshape the way we do business and how we govern.”
Newsom continued by saying that this “shouldn’t send shivers up the spines” of either party, but that it’s needed to “meet this moment.”

From its draconian gun laws that leave law-abiding citizens disarmed to its growing homeless problems, California is becoming an exemplar of state dysfunction.
With a new crisis underway, Newsom will milk this situation for all its worth and double down on the policies that wrecked California.
