Cory Booker Unveils Massive Gun-Grabbing Scheme

On Monday, May 6, 2019, New Jersey Senator Cory Booker introduced a radical gun control plan in his 2020 presidential platform.
According to USA Today, this plan calls for the creation of a national licensing program for gun owners.Booker’s plan is the most aggressive of any of the 2020 Democratic candidates.
This plan demands that prospective gun owners take a mandatory gun safety course and go through a lengthy interview to acquire a 5-year gun license.
Booker stated, “My plan to address gun violence is simple — we will make it harder for people who should not have a gun to get one.”
The New Jersey Senator added:
I am sick and tired of hearing thoughts and prayers for the communities that have been shattered by gun violence.
On top of that, Booker’s proposal advocates for “banning assault-weapons, bump-stocks, and high-capacity magazines.” In the same vein, Booker’s gun control plan limits the number of guns that can be purchased each month.
The New Jersey Senator also vows to investigate the NRA’s tax exempt status, which has been a controversial matter that BLP has reported on. This is part of Booker’s plan to “bring the fight to the NRA.” The New York Attorney General is currently investigating whether the NRA merits tax exempt status.
This proposal is no surprise considering that New Jersey is one of the most anti-gun states in the Union. Guns & Ammo Magazine ranks it in 50th place.
Since the New Zealand shooting, Democrats from Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez to Eric Swalwell have endorsed expanding gun control.
