Tweets uncovered by Big League Politics show Bernie Sanders’ newly hired Press Secretary making racist statements about white people.
Briahna Joy Gray was hired by Sanders in mid-March, having worked for The Intercept prior to her hire.
The Tweets in question come from Gray’s verified Twitter account, showing her making disparaging comments against white people, calling them “murderous racists.”

In another Tweet she states that she “knows what white evil looks like.”
@SeamusTx Lol. We've been living with white solidarity since the middle ages. Find a new tactic. I already know what white evil looks like.

She also states that she sees herself more like black nationalist Malcolm X than civil rights leaders Martin Luther King Jr.
I feel like an MLK trying to convince folks to pay attention to white voters' qualms, but I always thought of myself as more of a Malcom X.

Gray announced her new position on the Sanders’ campaign on the 19th of March, and since then has been hosting the campaigns official Podcast, “Hear the Bern.”
I'm late to post — it's been a busy day — but I couldn't be more excited to join the Sanders 2020 team! It was the progressive vision embodied by Sanders' 2016 campaign that sparked my writing career, & it's humbling to have the opportunity to contribute to this movement! https://t.co/3OxdXwthgt

Gray has long been a critic of mainstream Democrats, even voting for Green Party candidate Jill Stein in the 2016 election, refusing to support Hillary Clinton, who she calls a “neo-liberal.”
Bernie seems like he’s really trying to make sure he retains the far-left voter block with this hire.
