Feckless Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler Finally Condemns ANTIFA Terror Movement After Years of Riots

Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler finally called out the ANTIFA criminal organization by name in a Friday press conference, calling upon state and Multnomah County authorities to buff criminal penalties for left-wing street violence and rioting. Wheeler’s denunciation of the criminal movement came a night after Portland suffered thousands of dollars of property damages in a New Year’s Eve riot in which ANTIFA militants forced Portland Police to retreat.

Wheeler admitted that the city’s feckless “deescalation” approach of tolerating ANTIFA violence had ended in failure.

“It will be necessary to use additional tools, and to push the limits of the tools we already have to bring the criminal destruction and violence to an end. Lawlessness and anarchy come at great expense, and with great risk to the future of our community. It’s time to push back harder against those who are set on destroying our community.”

The Democrat mayor is calling on state legislators to act against left-wing property destruction and political crime, and wants to implement new laws that require convicted ANTIFA vandals to meet with the employees and owners of small businesses they vandalize.
Left-wing Multnomah County District Attorney Mike Schmidt has a de-facto “do not prosecute” approach regarding arrested members of ANTIFA, frustrating city police and county sheriff’s who are powerless to to stop the criminal thugs from terrorizing small businesses and behaving like animals.
Portland’s reputation has been severely damaged from an epidemic of legally tolerated left-wing crime, with a Patriot Prayer Trump supporter murdered in cold blood by “100% ANTIFA” Michael Reinoehl.
Wheeler expressly promised an action plan to combat “anarchist violence” and expressly identified ANTIFA, using language he would’ve never dared to use months ago as left-wing thugs terrorized the Hatfield Federal Courthouse.
It took little more than an election in which Donald Trump appears to have lost for the left-wing mayor to finally move against the criminal ANTIFA movement, revealing the riot phenomenon as an effective political prop for the Democratic Party. Some have speculated that “polite” left-wing Democrats will seek to quietly shoo the riot terror movement into the closet as Biden ascends to the presidential throne, but the mentally challenged members of the street riot movement don’t intend to shy away quietly.
