Koch-Funded Reason Magazine Promotes Julian Castro’s Plan to Make Illegal Immigration a Civil Infraction

The Koch-funded globalists at Reason Magazine have marched to the left in recent years to oppose President Donald Trump’s ‘America First’ agenda within the GOP, and that is evident with their endorsement of former San Antonio Mayor Julian Castro’s plan to reduce the penalties for illegal immigration to a slap on the wrist.

“The next President must start by reversing the cruel policies of the Trump administration — including the Muslim ban, wasteful spending on a pointless wall, and cuts to the refugee program — and ending the vile rhetoric that has scapegoated and vilified immigrants,” Castro wrote to unveil his ‘People First’ immigration policy which is a central tenet of his 2020 presidential candidacy.

“The truth is, immigrants seeking refuge in our country aren’t a threat to national security. Migration shouldn’t be a criminal justice issue. It’s time to end this draconian policy and return to treating immigration as a civil — not a criminal — issue,” added Castro, who served as the United States Secretary of Housing and Urban Development under former President Obama.

Punishing illegal immigrants in the same manner the state punishes jaywalkers appeals to the libertines at Reason, who are gushing over Castro’s plan to exacerbate the national emergency that is currently wreaking havoc at the US southern border.

“Such a move would allow federal courts to focus on prosecuting violent crimes that merit more attention, instead of diverting resources toward criminal trials for undocumented immigrants,” intern Billy Binion wrote at Reason’s Hit & Run blog.

The libertines at Reason also floated the idea of abolishing Immigration and Customs Enforcement so the US has little recourse but to surrender to third-world invaders.

“And while many Democratic leaders have rallied around abolishing Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Castro recommends cutting it in half,” Binion wrote. “Similar suggestions have drawn cries of outrage from Republicans, but the idea is hardly radical, considering that the agency has only been in existence for 16 years.”

“While Castro’s chances of securing the nomination are meek, his plan provides a sensible and stark contrast to the draconian policies currently in place,” Binion wrote to conclude his blog.

This is far from the first time that the Koch Brothers and their operatives have pushed Democratic Party politicians and initiatives. Their opposition of President Trump’s mission to secure the border caused much of their vast network to support Democrats during the 2018 mid-term elections.

Through their pro-illegal immigration LIBRE Initiative, the Koch network sent mailers to up to 100,000 homes in 2018 favoring far-left legislators such as Reps. Ben Ray Luján and Michelle Lujan Grisham of New Mexico, Democratic Reps. Raul Ruiz and Pete Aguilar of California, and Democratic Sen. Chris Coons of Delaware who supported amnesty for illegal invaders.

“Thank you Sen. Coons for supporting a permanent solution for Dreamers,” one Koch-funded mailer read. “More than 90% of Americans want protection for the Dreamers.”

President Trump is well-aware of the Koch’s subversive influence on the conservative movement:

The Koch Brothers have also announced that they will be sitting out the 2020 Presidential election, the biggest in our lifetime. It has become clear that ‘America First’ is not and never will be on the agenda of these swampy billionaire oligarchs.
